If we are admitting you or a loved one from the community (home or an assisted living facility), Wayne Woodlands does require medical information from your primary care physician so we can help fulfill your needs while you are here. We do accept medical assistance and offer help and guidance in regards to the application process. Please give us a call at (570) 488-7130 to discuss a care plan for you or your loved one.
If you are coming from a hospital, our Admissions Coordinator can work directly with your discharge planners.
Wayne Woodlands has a number of private rooms which may be available upon your admission. Please discuss your options with our Admissions Coordinator during the Admissions process.
Wayne Woodlands is proud of its medical staff-per-resident ratio. Our caring medical staff consists of registered nurses, an Infection Control nurse, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants, all overseen by our Director of Nursing. Our Medical Director provides direction and coordination of medical care and services. Our Social Work, Dietary and Activities Departments meet the emotional, nutritional and recreational needs of the residents.
Wayne Woodlands has several physicians on staff who regularly visit the facility, review resident records, assure medication safety and offer in-person visits with residents who may need his/her services.
We understand that each resident has unique needs and preferences which we make every effort to satisfy. Our dietitian will meet with you, explain your diet as prescribed by your doctor, review any restrictions and provide individual counseling. Meal substitutions and alternatives are always available. Our Food Services Department works hand-in-hand with the residents and the Registered Dietitian for the resident’s overall nutritional needs. We also have a Food Council consisting of residents who meet once a month. They provide new ideas and input for our Dietary Department.
Wayne Woodlands does not have a memory care unit; however we do accept residents with cognitive challenges. We have a caring nurturing staff who have experience in meeting the medical, emotional and recreational needs of dementia residents. Recreational events and activities are tailored to best meet the needs of these residents. We also utilize a security system that alerts staff to residents who wander.
Upon admission, your possessions are labeled to assure that they remain with you. We do not encourage residents to bring valuables; however there are locked boxes in each room. There is also a safe on site for jewelry and other items.
Wayne Woodlands has a Wi-Fi setup that is free and available to all residents. While there are television sets stationed around the facility, residents who wish to have their own TVs are encouraged to bring it to the facility. Cable television is available throughout the facility at a cost of $17.50 per month.
Wayne Woodlands can help you make an appointment with your doctor or dentist and provide for transportation if necessary. We do offer podiatry care, dental care and eye care at the facility through contracted services.
Wayne Woodlands Manor accepts Medicare and Medical Assistance. We accept most managed care insurance plans such as Geisinger, Aetna etc. Our Admissions Coordinator and Business Office can help verify your insurance and benefits in regards to skilled care. Our Business Office will also provide help and guidance to residents and families who would like to apply for Medical Assistance.
