Christine Rechner, Esq, Chair
Chris is the owner of Rechner Law Office in Honesdale, which she acquired after working as an associate for her father, Hugh Rechner, Esq, for nearly a dozen years before taking over the practice in 2017. Christine received her undergraduate degree from Penn State and her juris doctor from Widener University School of Law. Christine’s community activities include having served as a member of the Wayne County Library Board and as a past president of the Honesdale Lions Club. She is also a member of the Wayne, Pike, and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. Christine lives in the Honesdale area and has two adult children.
Edward R. Howell, PSY. D, FD, Trustee
Edward is the Wayne County Coroner and has served in this elected position since 2012. Additionally, he is a Licensed Funeral Director and owner of Jenkins-Howell Funeral Home in Waymart. Edward holds an Associate's Degree in Funeral Service & Mortuary Science from Simmons Institute of Funeral Service in Syracuse, NY. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology with concentrations in Bereavement Counseling and Education after matriculating at Millersville University and Messiah College. In 2020, he received his Doctor of Psychology with a specialization in Thanatology. Edward is an active member of both the PA State and the International Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners. He is the Chairperson of the Wayne County Chapter of the Child Death Review Team and a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling. Edward and his wife Anna are musicians with The Old Time Fiddlers and are active in their local church and Sunday school. The Howells have four sons and live in Clinton Township.
Cathy Salak, DMD, Trustee
Cathy has a general dentistry practice in Waymart with over 30 years’ experience. She graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry with a DMD and received an Advanced Education Graduate Degree the following year. Dr. Salak assisted with the opening and operations of the Together for Health Dental Clinic in Honesdale for the first five years. She serves as the School Dentist for the Western Wayne School District and is a member of the Scranton Dental Association. Dr. Salak has two children, is a member of the Wayne Highlands Band Parent Association, and a former Merit Badge counselor for Troop 1 Boy Scouts.
Dirk Mumford, Trustee
Dirk has been involved with Wayne Memorial Health System for many years. He first joined the Wayne Memorial Hospital Board in 2007, went on to serve as 1st Vice Chair and subsequently Chairman of the Board from 2014 to 2019. Dirk, originally from Maryland, earned a degree in marketing and economics from the University of Delaware. After 38 years with Exxon Mobil Corporation, he retired and moved to Northern Wayne County with his wife Nancy and their beloved Labrador Retrievers. In addition to his dedication to Wayne Memorial, Dirk serves as Trustee for the Lake Como Methodist Church and Lake Como Cemetery. The Mumfords have two adult sons and live in the Lake Como area.
Stanton Rush, Trustee
Stan is a Waymart area business owner and an active member in several organizations in the community. He is a member and past Master of the Waymart Masonic Lodge #542, member of Irem Shriners, and treasurer of the Waymart Masonic Hall Association. Stan and his wife Libby live in the Waymart area and have three children.
Paul Meagher, Jr., Trustee
Paul is President and CEO of the Meagher Insurance Agency and Meagher Financial Services in Honesdale and Moscow, Pa. Paul is very active in the community serving with several agencies and organizations including the Wayne County Planning Commission, the Greater Honesdale Partnership, and the Wayne Highlands School District Excellence by Design committee. Additionally, he serves as a lector for St. John the Evangelist Parish. Paul and his wife Jenny have four children and live in Dyberry Township.
Carol Mazza, RN, Trustee
Carol Mazza is a registered nurse and lives in the Hemlock Farms Community in Lords Valley. Carol and her husband Nick have three children.
